mamashoe Posted January 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2006 My husband and I are arriving on Holland American on March 7 in Tortola which is our 25th anniversary!!! We don't arrive until 3:00 pm! What would you recommend to do to celebrate our anniversary. I would love to sail but not sure about the late arrival into that port and we are there until 11:59 pm. This is our first vacation in 25 years other than to relatives!!! Can't wait! We are doing 11 night cariibbean cruise on ms noordam. This is the 2nd voyage for this new boat!! Looking forward to getting info! Thanks
john & Gerrie nj Posted February 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2006 I'm looking around to see if i can find a sunset cruise. I don't think it can get much more romantic. One with a picnic diner would be great. unfortunately HAL last time on the Maasdam cut the stay short --- I'm a little leary about the actual 11pm departure we should know for positive absolute maybe on the time soon. Hope to meet you "on da boat"
zydecocruiser Posted February 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2006 You could look into chartering a water taxi to take you to the Peter Island Resort or over to one of the resorts on Virgin Gorda. Or a sunset sail and pick a restaurant on Tortola for a romantic dinner. Some places to start on the latter: http://www.bvitourism.com/tortola/dining http://www.frommers.com/destinations/tortolabvi/304_inddin.html http://www.fodors.com/miniguides/mgresults.cfm?destination=bvi@34&cur_section=din&sort=location&review=brief&pg=5 http://www.brandywinebay.com/ looks interesting
64drvr Posted February 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Send the evening at the nicest place for dinner in Tortola at Brandywine overlooking Brandywine bay...about a 10 min cab ride from the dock...you will not be disapointed...water taxi to Peter will be prohibitively expensive unless your willing to spend $500-700 for the evening... Pyrate13 Posted February 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Everyone has their own tastes but I would much rather go to Spaghetti Junction than Brandywine. Been to both and just my opinion.
zydecocruiser Posted February 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2006 I've always hated the name, but Spaghetti Junction is popular. Think it is a different atmosphere. http://www.spaghettijunction.net/
64drvr Posted February 8, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2006 SP just has not been the same since the fire...food is good as always but not the same... this is a truly special night.
Pyrate13 Posted February 8, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 8, 2006 I have to agree, the old location on the water was more romantic but I will still take SJ over BW any day. As I said, just my opinion.
