ZandZ Posted January 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2019 Hi everyone, Hoping to get some good feedback and no bickering. My cruising background is 100% RCI, but I would not mind trying something different. I have seen some decline in RCI but generally am OK with how it is, and consider myself easy to please, with few pet peeves. I have been on Majesty a few times and happen to love the small ship feel. I am looking to go to Cuba and want an overnight stay but do not want a port intensive cruise. While on board I split my time between the pool area and boleros. I prefer dinner in the dinning room. I have been to Key West numerous times so could potentially skip leaving the ship. I prefer cruises where my sea days are on the way back to home port. For my time frame, with those specifics, I see two options with Carnival offering a better schedule. Also, it looks like what they are calling a 5 day is actually a day longer than RCI..... 1. 5 night Carnival Paradise (key west, havana overnight, 2 sea days) 2. 5 night RCI Majesty (sea day, key west, havana) I'm going alone and am having a very hard time choosing.... Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
brawling Posted January 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2019 We researched both and decided on the Carnival Cruise. I like the overnight in Havana that will allow for dinner and night time exploration. Tampa is an easy port for us as well.
evandbob Posted January 21, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2019 In addition to the 2 lines the OP listed, NCL and MSC also offer overnight Havana porting. If the OP says they are open to a totally new experience, I would suggest MSC, while NCL is probably the better choice for solo traveling.
