Carnival Players Club Offers Question

Good morning all!

 

This is an odd question, but any help would be appreciated. 

 

I recently booked a premiere cruise for July and the offer for the room was full price with 1k free play (even though it shows "up to" $500 off).  My sister (who gambled more than I did on her last cruise which was 2015) received a fantastic offer of 100.00 interior pp + 200 onboard credit + 500 free play.  I play about 2k everytime I cruise but the last cruise I held back a bit and didn't receive a bounceback offer for a free cruise (received 200.00 pp per room). Sidenote - we cruise at least once a year. 

 

So here's my question.  Has anyone ever reached out to the players club and talked to them about giving a more attractive offer?  When I call Carnival they can't help (PVP's don't seem to have any influence or ability to request new offers).

I don't have any experience with this but definitely call them. It never hurts to ask. They might take a look at all of your past play history for an offer instead of the most recent sailing.

The last cruise I took, December 15,2018, my wife gambled a lot, but received no offers. My daughter didn’t gamble at all and is getting offers...of course, I’m getting offers like crazy. 

 

Its almost like there no rhyme or reason

Couple of points..  gamblers fib about what they spend.

The casino hosts can put notes in your file about you which can up or ding your offers.  Hand pays up offers.  Being a PITA without being a big loser will down offers.  PVPs and the Casino Hosts are separate departments. A great PVP may have been able to develop a relationship with casino Executive Hosts but most don't.  Spending $2000 puts you in the low end of casino players.  There are players every cruise who rack up that much per day.  There is a reason you can charge up to $5000 per day to your S&S on a regular cruise and $7,500 per day on a Premier.  

The casino hosts stopped taking phone calls (you can bet the $$$$$ players get through) because so many people call to negotiate a better package.  If the casino host themselves (because you have of course introduce yourself the first day) seek you out, you have gotten their attention.  Bouncebacks are usually not offered if you hacve another cruise booked UNLESS you have gotten their attention.  Boucebacks are also limited per cruise so only the top percentage on any given cruises get them.  I have seen people who have racked up 20,000 points by the second day.  You get a few of those folks on your sailing, they are going to get all the offers.  On the other hand, you could be sailing with a bunch of non gamblers and you end up being the big fish with 10,000 points at the end.  It is always a crapshoot...

I get the best offers through email. Lately the offers I’ve been receiving in the cabin on the last night of the cruise are a joke. 

For example, I was down about $30k in blackjack in one day on my last ultra cruise. That will give you an idea of how much I’m betting. The bounce back offer was $100 interior room and $100 credit. I showed my wife the card and tossed it in the trash.

On the other hand, my email offers are $1000 casino cash and free balcony. I get these emailed to me at least twice per month. I have 8 premier/elite cruises planned this year, six of those in the next three months. I went on 2 elites, 2 ultras, and 6 premier cruises last year.

 

i think you’re correct about the bounce back offers being better with less gamblers onboard. I’ve gotten the best bounce back offers when the casino is empty. Plus, with less gamblers I can always count on more comps during the cruise. On the ultra, elite, and premier cruises it’s like pulling teeth to get comped something.

Good info here.  Yep, I've seen the 2k a day players (definitely not me).  I did send an email to the players club.  I'll let you all know what's said.
