Anyone Just Back From Empress ?

Recommended Posts

How was it ? Am thinking this trip for next year.

Just got back last night, and it was AWESOME! For a 3-nighter, it was one of the best cruises we have ever been on--staff was totally attentive, the smaller ship had many cozy nooks and crannies; the food was excellent. It truly exceeded our expectations. We had the best dining staff we've ever encountered, and formal night was truly that--everyone made an effort to dress up, so it truly enhanced the experience.

Because our ship encountered propulsion problems, our originally scheduled port--St. Kitts--was replaced with St. Thomas. We recieved a $100 stateroom credit, which was very nice. There weren't too many complaints about this (that we knew of), and St. Thomas was lovely. Other than that, the cruise was a truly memorable experience.

Thanks Andipanda1....Sounds great. Does the ship show her age ?

Nope. She's gorgeous. Cabin was spotless; the bathroom had been completely refurbished, and looked new.

We're planning to sail on her again. We love smaller ships, anyway.

Just posted a review this morning if you have any questions let me know. This ship is in pretty good shape some wear on the outside, not noticable, the inside was nicely done.

Hi...We sailed the Empress a month ago, and really enjoyed it. So much, we have booked "Her" again for this coming December. The itinerary was awesome, even though they dropped St. Barths and Grenada, and subbed Antigua and a day At Sea. This December cruise has Tortola and Guadeloupe, hopefully "they" won't change the ports again. The ship is small, compared to the mega-ships, but we love the smaller ones. Go for it!.....Helen

Hi

Glad to hear Empress is a cozy ship. We love the BIG ones, but wanted to do Bermuda and she's the only one from Philly for 7 nights. Saw that she was built in 90 and we were concerned about her appearance. Looking forward to sailing her in July.

One of the crew members (don't remember which one) was telling us that they will switch to a larger ship for this cruise due to the interest in the ports. Believe they said sometime early next year (2007)
