MSC Meraviglia and Yacht Club Deluxe Suite Information

We just booked MSC Meraviglia and our cabin is Yacht Club Deluxe Suite. We are new to MSC but have cruised other cruise lines. We have few questions and any information would be greatly appreciated.

1.       Is the drink package in the Yacht Club Deluxe Suite the PREMIUM PLUS PACKAGE and if so, does that include Specialty Coffees like Frappuccino or café latté? Also where do you get the specialty coffees?

2.       Do they have seats reserved for the shows like RCCL does?

3.       Does the room service include cooked to ordered breakfast?

4.       Who all do you tip extra and how much? I am guessing you tip butler extra?

3.      We will be on a New Years Eve cruise this year and was wonder what all do they do on New Years Eve.

Again, thanks for all the help. I know we will have more question before the cruise. lol

Officially YC is not tied to a specific drink package, that said, based on a conversation with our favorite waitress in the Sky Lounge, our account was labeled as Premium Plus.  Specialty coffees are included. You can get cafe lattes in the Top Sail Lounge as well as other espresso based drinks like macchiatos. The Edge bar on deck 6 has a couple of other speciality coffees, like latte caramela, a mokachino, and one more I cant recall the name of.

2.       Do they have seats reserved for the shows like RCCL does?

It was mentioned on our behind the scenes tour that there is supposed to be a designated section for YC members for main theater shows.  Although we saw a few shows this trip, we never asked if there was a designated seating area.  If there is, one would check-in with the Concierge desk and then be escorted down. We saw this happen for guests seeing the Cirque shows, so I would presume there is something similar for the main theater.

3.       Does the room service include cooked to ordered breakfast?

There was the standard continental breakfast menu that I recall seeing.  There was a standard room service menu as well, but ours happened to be in Spanish so I only briefly looked at it on Day 1, never asked for an English one, and as we stayed in an inside suite, never used the service, so sorry I cant give you better information.

4.       Who all do you tip extra and how much? I am guessing you tip butler extra?

Outside of the Daily Service Charge, we tipped extra our Butler, Room Attendant (Junior Butler), A Butler in the Top Sail Lounge who had made a memorable impression on Macon, and two of our favorite waitresses from our most frequented lounges.  We tipped as based on how much of an extra impact each crew member made on us, and also by how much cash we had on hand when we saw them last before disembarking, but cant remember the actual amounts

3.      We will be on a New Years Eve cruise this year and was wonder what all do they do on New Years Eve.

We have yet to sail with MSC during a holiday, but we did have friends on board for Christmas, and they had special activities, dinners, and other things planned.

Again, thanks for all the help. I know we will have more question before the cruise. lol

Hope this helps a little, and when you have more questions, we would be happy to answer them to the best of our knowledge.

I can help with #2, for the Seaside anyway. There is a roped off section for YC passengers, however, it is at the very back of one the sections. Due to its poor location, we just arrived early and picked much better seats. IMO, it is only good for late arrivals, or if you want to leave early.

1.       Is the drink package in the Yacht Club Deluxe Suite the PREMIUM PLUS PACKAGE and if so, does that include Specialty Coffees like Frappuccino or café latté? Also where do you get the specialty coffees?

We ordered drinks from several venues, and we were never charged for anything. This included, beers, bottled water, various cocktails from bar drink menus, double whiskey, fresh orange juice, etc. All that said, you will find yourself in the yacht club lounge more often than not for drinks. It's nice to be able to get drinks elsewhere, but the lounge was our go to. On another note, prepare for few options at yacht club restaurant and specialty restaurants. For example, you can't order a Manhattan at the Butcher's Club. I also ordered one in yacht club restaurant and was strongly urged to order a beer or wine only. After some pleading, they went downstairs to bar and brought me the manhattan, but this differed much from our experience with RCCL in Coastal Kitchen.

2.       Do they have seats reserved for the shows like RCCL does?

We only did one show, the Viaggio Cirque Du Soleil. We had amazing seats, 2nd row right in the action. Cannot speak for any other shows, as we didn't attend.

3.       Does the room service include cooked to ordered breakfast?

This is a tough one. We looked at room service menu and you can get the usual eggs, bacon, cereal, oatmeal, various baked goods, and coffee/OJ. But don't expect to be able to order restaurant style food in your room like on RCCL. For lunch or dinner, you can get pizza freshly cooked and brought to your room. We did that one night with rough seas as we wanted to stay in.  On another side note, we were unable to order dinner to our room from any restaurant. This is something we have enjoyed on RCCL ships in the Suites. Furthermore, we asked to take our dessert "TOGO" one night and they firmly denied our request. Reasoning was they didn't want the glass plates carried to the room, as they could break if dropped and was a safety hazard.....??? Wasn't a huge deal, but something very unexpected.

4.       Who all do you tip extra and how much? I am guessing you tip butler extra?

I tried to research the same, and you'll get varying answers here as always. My humble opinion is to tip those who leave an impression and make your cruise memorable. We used our butler on several occasions, and the bartenders in yacht club lounge were great. Only used the concierge to set up our onboard payment with credit card. All our shows, excursions, and spa treatments were booked in advance.

3.      We will be on a New Years Eve cruise this year and was wonder what all do they do on New Years Eve.

Have only done Christmas cruise with RCCL, so I'm not sure.

Again, thanks for all the help. I know we will have more question before the cruise. lol

Hope this helps! We are fresh off Meraviglia Mediterranean cruise from the 12th-19th. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for the information. We have sailed RCCL, NCL, Princess, Viking river cruise and Carnival. We haven't had a bad cruise, but like RCCL the best. MSC looks inviting and we though we would give it a try.

We've never had a bad cruise either! It's our favorite vacation! Sailed with Princess, RCCL, and Carnival. MSC offered us a great cruise, but yes RCCL still stands first for us! Enjoy your MSC cruise!!!

Start with the controversial one lol.

YC in Europe used to insist that you did not tip extra (they may still say that).

Americans love to tip so you guys just go ahead lol

We allocated just 100USD between us for a 2 week cruise - 70 will go to our waiter as we always have the same one for the whole cruise and 30 goes to asst waiter.

That's it.

$12.50 pp pd, I believe.  And yacht club staff, i.e., butlers, stewards, etc. share in it.

Thank you!!

Hi as you are new to MSC but have cruised elsewhere have you looked at the MSC

Status Match.  As you are going YC I dont think much of the peripheral benefits

will give you anything but it might give you 5% off the basic cruise price ( doesnt

include flights or taxes & port fees.

As well as matching cruise loyalty status I think you can match Hotel Loyalty status.

Got to be worth looking at. There are many threads on here but might be easier to find them by googling MSC Status Match which will bring up the posts as well as the MSC site.
