Nancy&Frank Posted January 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2019 Does anyone have any info as to what Azamara is doing ? We are scheduled to be in Havana on Sunday via Azamara Journey ?
SkystheLimit Posted January 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2019 Oh my goodness. I did not see this on the news. Just googled after your post. The damage appears to be significant. Infrastructure there is so fragile. Be interesting to see the decision made for the Journey.

cruzmaven Posted January 29, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2019 The port and main tourist areas were not impacted. Blexie posted on Facebook that he and his team are ok and everything that has to do with his Havana tours is fine.
BBMacLaird Posted January 29, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2019 Here's what I posted on the 2/2/19 Journey Roll Call. Right now it is the only upcoming voyage that has been impacted. "On January 27th, 2019 Havana, Cuba experienced a tornado that left parts of Old Havana flooded and without power. The local tour operators have assured us that you’ll still be able to enjoy what this captivating city has to offer. However, if you’re booked on our Havana Cigars, Coffee and Rum tour (N160) on February 4th or February 5th, this tour will unfortunately not operate as planned as the roads leading to the cigar factories are currently not accessible due to flooding. If you have this tour booked, you’ll receive a refund prior to sailing in the original form of payment. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, however, your safety and comfort is our Number One priority. Please join us in keeping the locals affected by this tornado in your thoughts and prayers."

3bzmom Posted January 30, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2019 We were originally booked on Royal Caribbean on a 7 nt cruise to Cuba, leaving Feb 17 or 18. Royal cancelled that cruise, and one of the options they gave us for rebooking was a 5-day stopping in Havana. Now I'm glad we opted to choose a totally different cruise!
