Overnight Port in Nassau?

We are looking at a cruise in the fall from Canaveral to Nassau on the Liberty that has an overnight stay in Nassau. We have done this little weekend cruise on the Liberty a few times now but have never had to stay overnight in port. Has anyone ever done this in Nassau? I have seen conflicting posts about whether or not the On-board casino will be open. We will have kids in our group so going to Atlantis for the casino isn't really an option. What happens on the boat while we spend the night in port? We do not love Nassau and don't get off of the boat often when we go and this usually makes for a great quiet day on the ship! But we do love the casino at night! 😃

We haven't done an overnight in Nassau but we've been on several cruises that were in Nassau until midnight.  The casino always opened in the evening (I think around 7 pm).

We have done an overnight in Nassau when we couldn't tender at Norwegian's private island due to rough seas.

 

We arrived in Nassau at 2pm and some folks went to the beach, we stayed onboard and used the empty pool and then headed out about 6pm to visit the casino at Atlantis.  We headed to the beach the next day.

If my cruise does not stop at GSC and overnights in Nassau, my game plan is to get a room at Baha Mar.  A vacation within a vacation.
