Hogladyrider Posted February 21, 2019 #526 Share Posted February 21, 2019 We did our first 14 day cruise in November, OMG we couldn't wait to get home! Too long. We will stick to 8 days is a good length of time. When we were working cruising was our escape from corporate world, now that we are retired, we continue to cruise and we love cruising. As we've "aged" we now enjoy less people, which means smaller ships. We're with you regarding fellow cruisers, not moving in line, or having such a sense of entitlement, meaning "I paid of this cruise I'm going to do what I want when I want". Love your reviews, hope you can work it out so you can cruise more and get paid to cruise as you do such a fantastic job of reporting on it! deedle7544 Posted February 21, 2019 #527 Share Posted February 21, 2019 I feel you on the upcoming life decisions, I have some to make in the upcoming months and at the moment don't like any of my options. But also, I'm really sad that your review is coming to an end. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #528 Share Posted February 21, 2019 I believe these next pictures are from the morning of Grand Cayman... I went up for my usual omelette. (Usual for a cruise, that is. I have cereal every morning in my real life)
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #529 Share Posted February 21, 2019 These touch panels, located all over the ship, are a great way to make reservations, look at show schedules, ect. I had a reservation that I wanted to change the time for, and it took about a minute and a half... Easy peasy.
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #530 Share Posted February 21, 2019 My cabin stewardess, Ana left me a nice hand written note with my towel sculpture this morning.
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #531 Share Posted February 21, 2019 I believe these are from the sea day following Jamaica. The Indian buffet at moderno... Looks kinda sloppy all piled up like that, but it was all great... They really do Indian food well...

Hogladyrider Posted February 21, 2019 #533 Share Posted February 21, 2019 Sid you have no idea how much your reviews are appreciated. As having cruised ONLY with Carnival and wanting to branch out, it is eye opening to see up close other cruise lines. We are not "dress-up" folks and it looks like we'd fit right in with NCL. This ship looks amazing! When is your next cruise so I can watch for your next review. Wish your reviews could continue on and on!
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #534 Share Posted February 21, 2019 And, now I believe we're at the final sea day... It would soon all be over. I really didn't want it to end, but I knew that the return to reality was inevitable. The last day was by far the busiest at Vibe.

I'm going to start researching though. I'm considering the Carnival Horizon, the new Encore, or possibly one of Royal's mega ships. I've been wanting to try them out for awhile. Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #539 Share Posted February 21, 2019 The day was dwindling away. I got most of the packing out of the way, but had to wait for my liquor that I'd bought in the gift shop to be delivered. I got ready for my final meal on board, which was Moderno... I had been to every other specialty restaurant on board, other than Ocean Blue...
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #540 Share Posted February 21, 2019 I think I had a few more drinks at Vibe before heading to dinner. Also, did some final exploration... Then, Marilyn popped up again... I went to guest services to drop off my vacation hero cards.
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #541 Share Posted February 21, 2019 I enjoyed the final sunset of the cruise... When it came up again, we were in New Orleans...
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #542 Share Posted February 21, 2019 I ended up being a little late for my reservation at Moderno, but I felt like I had to see that final sunset. I had been a long way by now, and in mere hours it would all be over... I tried to go light with my last dinner, if that can even be done at this restaurant...
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #543 Share Posted February 21, 2019 At least my last dessert on board was pretty healthy by dessert standards. The grilled pineapple. When I got back to my cabin, my liquor had shown up, so at least I could finish packing.
Rare sid_9169 Posted February 21, 2019 Author #544 Share Posted February 21, 2019 (edited) After dinner, I made a few more rounds, and took a few more photos. I ended up going to bed pretty early, but I still didn't get much sleep... All the stress and issues back home were heavy on my mind... Edgar, the Vibe bartender was getting ready for tomorrow's new passengers. Edited February 21, 2019 by sid_9169 delete photo

The passengers on board leered over at the magnificent Norwegian Breakaway, wishing they were sailing her, instead of the ship they were currently standing on... (I'm not knocking CCL. I enjoy sailing with them, just on their newer, larger ships) The sun was rising quickly, and it was time to get ready for my adventure to the East side of Cozumel, which was described in an earlier chapter, though I secretly would not mind reliving the entire day... I have pictures in 2017 while I was on the Escape next to this same ship. For a long time I stood there and watched (and took pictures) of how everyone on the ship was admiring the Escape. A couple stopped to look and then the boyfriend/husband just left her. LOL!
