Newbie2006 Posted February 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2019 Looking for recommendations: We are taking a cruise out of, and into San Juan in March 2019. I've booked a hotel for the night before/after our cruise in Old San Juan. We are foodies interested in local and unusual delicacies (trying to eat some lion fish is on my bucket list after a tour guide on a snorkeling excursion in St. Thomas recommended it on our last cruise). Any highly recommended places? (We can get excellent Asian food where we live, so we are more interested in local specialties . . . or exotic ice creams). Ashland Posted February 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2019 (edited) A few of our favorite places are La Bombonera (Mallorca's for breakfast) or the Choco Bar and the roof top restaurant on top of the Milano Hotel and of course there's always Barrachina's. helensobol Posted February 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2019 I'm also looking for food recommendations. I have logged additional places people recommended on other posts: 1. Triana Tapas & Flamenco (dinner show available) 2. Concha Fiori- Elevated Puerto Rican food
cruisetexas Posted February 26, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2019 While you won't get anything 'exotic' on this tour, we had a wonderful guide and learned about the history of OSJ. They may also be able to direct you to where you might find the foods you're looking for. Highly recommend this company. https://sanjuanfoodtours.com/
