bbtbear Posted February 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2019 I'm doing some last minute preparations before boarding the Dream on the 23rd and need to get my cash in order. I intend to bring some $1s, $5s, and $10s for tipping, but was wondering if I could also break some large bills on the ship, either at guest services or maybe at the casino as needed before traveling into ports. I know I don't want to bring large bills into port, but I also don't want to carry a huge fat roll of cash in small denominations with me onto the ship if I don't have to. I am a woman traveling alone until I get to the ship and intend to keep my cash in a hidden pouch under my shirt. Having a big old wad of cash there will both make me uncomfortable, and make it a little more obvious that there is something hidden. Can I break cash down into smaller denominations on the ship as needed? Many thanks!
DanvilleCruiser Posted February 13, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2019 I was able to go to Guest Services and get smaller bills.
Eliot Ness Posted February 13, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2019 The casino cage will happily break them for you also.

CRocks Posted February 13, 2019 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2019 And it's a good idea to break those big bills on the ship + NOT in some tourist trap ashore. I wouldn't take anything larger than a $20 ashore.

I certainly don't want to go around flashing $100 bills!

The kiosks were out of money when I tried to break a $50 bill near the end of a seven day cruise in July. Luckily, there was only one person in line at Guest Services that morning.

Thanks! We have Faster to the Fun, so lines shouldn't be an issue for this cruise, but the kiosks sound very convenient, so long as they are stocked with cash!
