njhorseman Posted February 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2019 For the past couple of years Oceania has offered 6 or 7 consecutive Riviera cruises to the Caribbean, usually starting in early January, as a single Grand Voyage advertised as the "Snowbird in Residence" cruise (or something along those lines). We were considering booking that type of cruise in 2020. I don't see that Grand Voyage offered for 2020, and in fact I don't see any Riviera departures after the 14 day cruise departing 12/22/2019 that disembarks on 1/5/2020 until the 1/26/2020 departure, leaving an apparent 21 day gap in the schedule from 1/5 to 1/26/20 . I've searched this forum as well as doing a general Google search and haven't been able to find a reason for the 21 day gap. Does anyone know if it's a dry dock for refurbishment? I know Oceania is in the process of refurbishing the "R" ships under the "OceaniaNEXT" program, but I haven't seen anything about major refurbishments of the Marina and Riviera. Anyone know? Rare PaulMCO Posted February 22, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2019 Last announcement was Riviera gets refurbished (new suite enhancements) in April 2019. There is a 10 day gap in her schedule 16-26 April. Could be a charter??

It could very well be a charter.
tine-tine Posted February 24, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2019 We have just booked on board for January 2020 and I can confirm from the Club Ambassador that it is indeed a Charter, we had wanted some of the dates that were blocked and she provided the information, obviously a company with big pockets!
