How do I add carnival gift cards to my account ?

Received some carnival gift cardsas a gift and want to add them to my account.  Can I add them to my account now or do I have to wait until I am in the ship? Didn’t see a place to add them.

You can buy cruise cash and pay using gift card on the Carnival website.  Like when you pay with credit card, there is a tab to pay with git card.

I have everything all paid for already kinda wanted to just add the cards to my account.  Should I buy cruise cash to do that ? Would just waiting til we are on ship be better ?

You can, but as I understand it, with cruise cash, you have to use it all or you forfeit whatever you didn't use at the end of the cruise.  For me, I would wait until I was aboard and have the gift cards applied to my account at that point.  At least then, whatever you don't use you can take home with you and save for the next cruise.

 

Just my opinion....YMMV.

Cruise cash is kind of like OBC but you buy it and then use it to pay for things while onboard like drinks or t-shirts etc. You can buy before cruise on website or onboard ship at customer service or I understand there are kiosks on some ships.

You can only buy $500 in Cruise Cash- certainly you would spend that! If not you can cash it out at the casino or guest services.

We wait until we are on the ship and then put the cards on our account.

And we keep the old cards.

Plus, make sure you know exactly how much is on the card and that it matches the credit to your account. :)

On our last cruise, we bought $200 cruise cash with a discounted AARP gift card so we would not have to add it to our account onboard. Enjoy your cruise.

DON’T buy cruise cash. Load it onto your Sign and Sail account when you’re on board. 

 

You can can then buy drinks or whatever you want with you S&S card. And you can load some onto your casino account too. 

 

Depending how you spend, $200 goes quickly if you don’t have Cheers. Either way, any unused funds will be refunded via a new gift card post cruise. With Cruise Cash, it’s use it or lose it so for our spending habits we don’t use Cruise Cash.
