"Expedited Arrival" trial on RC app?

I searched for this term on the board but didn't get any hits. When printing my luggage tags, I saw this note on the main page by my cruise information :"Check-in with the Royal app - The quickest way to get ready for your cruise, plus the chance to participate in our Expedited Arrival boarding trial at the port."

 

I've already got my setsail pass on the app, but don't know what the "expedited arrival boarding trial" is all about. Anyone have any info about this?

I think that is a separate check in area in the terminal where the process is shorter.

As long as all your info is complete, you will be able to skip the counter and be checked in by an agent with a tablet.  They will verify the info you submitted and "check" you in.  You still will have to wait until they start boarding if you are early, but if boarding has already started it is a speedy process.
