RC XCaret tour CZ81

We'll be visiting Cozumel via Royal Caribbean soon and have read that XCaret is not recommended to do on your own.  We normally never do the shop excursions, but in this case, it seems like it may be wise to book with the ship.

 

Is there anything we should know before booking the CZ81 8-hour XCaret trip?

I would recommend thoroughly researching in advance and narrow down what you want to see and do at Xcaret. You cannot possibly do it all on a cruise ship excursion so having a plan is essential.

 

Too many variables for transport, definitely recommend only doing it through the ship.

Probably a silly question, but is there any time on the way back to walk 5th Ave in Playa de Carmen or is the schedule pretty tight and they get you on the ferry back right away?

Sorry i havent done it through the cruise line.

 

We had a two day pass while staying at the Occidental next door which made for a wonderful leisurely time. I realize not everyone has the time yo visit during a land visit which is why i think you have to pick carefully what you want to do to make the most of your time. Unfortunately you won't get to see the evening show.
