My sister and I travelled on th SS. Ascania April 1959 from Antigua bound for Southampton UK. I was 7 at the time and remembered the Captains son as we became friends. I went to places on that ship most people probably didn't including the Captains quarters, bridge and engine room. It was an amazing experience for a young boy

Cunard had 2 ships named Ascania, # 1 was short lived from 1911 to 1918 and # 2 from 1925 to 1957. Unfortunately unable to help with any more recent ships having the same name.

The Cunard ship Ascania was sent for scrap in Newport (Wales) in 1957, so another cruise line must have built/acquired another ship and renamed it Ascania. Wasn't Cunard or P&O, and I did a quick search, but didn't find anything.
