using Carnival gift cards on your cruise

We are taking our 2 grandkids on a cruise in June

I have Carnival gift cards for both of them that I want to put on their sign and sail card, so they won't have to use our credit card.

Can I do this before the cruise or on the cruise?

Do it on the cruise.  You can do it at check in but sometimes the staff doesn't know how to apply it.  If that happens, take it to Guest Services when you get on board.  They will apply it without any issues.

On the cruise. You're supposed to be able to do it at the kiosks but I had a problem with that on Breeze last year so I just go to guest services when there's  no line. I have a credit card on my account and then the last day I'll apply gift card(s) to cover it. You can do it earlier than that if you want. They send me a new gift card in the mail for whatever was left over. I get off the ship on Sunday and have the new card on Tuesday.

We had to have ours applied at guest services last year.  It only took a minute.  I guess it's just as well that you can't apply them online at home.  If something happened & you didn't go on the cruise, you'd have the hassle of getting it back.
