Sightseeing Rate for Taxis

I've seen that there is a sightseeing rate for taxis of $50/hour for a 1-4 person taxi. Is this something you need to set up in advance, or can you just ask for it when you hail a taxi? Depending on how long we spend in Hamilton on the first day of our overnight, I want to consider taking a taxi back toward Dockyard, stopping at Horseshoe Bay and Gibbs Hill Lighthouse. But, I don't want to feel rushed with our other plans and I don't want to be committed to doing it if we decide we'd rather just go straight back to the ship via ferry.

Sure if a driver's available and willing to do a tour you can wing it. There is a minimum (3 or 4 hours I can't recall which) time for the touring rate. One thing about just getting a driver at the last minute...he may not be a "blue flag" certified driver who has met the necessary certification requirements for the touring endorsement. The blue flag drivers are considered the most knowledgeable taxi drivers.

There is a three hour minimum. You could of course just take taxis between those stops. If you only want those stops there is no particular reason to do a tour.
