mdsgu Posted March 21, 2019 #27 Share Posted March 21, 2019 On our last NCL cruise (Breakway, Nov 2018), my steak in LeBistro was much better than the one I had the next night in Cagney's.
kochleffel Posted March 21, 2019 #28 Share Posted March 21, 2019 I've never eaten beef steak of any sort in Le Bistro. While I have been very satisfied with the steaks in Cagney's, the best dining experience of all on NCL was lamb chops in Cagney's.
FLAHAM Posted March 21, 2019 #29 Share Posted March 21, 2019 The onion soup at Le Bistro is really third rate. That said, I have had some very good entrees at Le Bistro.

Guess it just goes to show that the chef/cook can make or break a meal.😋
TrumpyNor Posted March 21, 2019 #31 Share Posted March 21, 2019 I have over the years found it "strange" that the steaks that I have been served in Le Bistro always have been much more tender than the steaks in the steakhouse on board (Cagney's) - so on our last cruise I actually asked about it and was told that it is a very simple explanation for that: In Cagney's the steaks are cooked on a grill where the meat juice kind of "drips down below" and in Le Bistro the steaks are cooked on a hot plate keeping the meat juice inside the steak. quercus alba Posted March 22, 2019 #32 Share Posted March 22, 2019 All told, the filets are better whichever restaurant you pick for the trimmings.

They were all good, but I personally rated the one at La Cucina first, Le Bistro second, Cagney's third, and Moderno last... Just my experience, YMMV... Was on the same cruise in February and I totally agree with Sid_9169.
DAllenTCY Posted March 23, 2019 #35 Share Posted March 23, 2019 I've found Moderno's meats to be overly salted. Cagney's and Le Bistro were cooked to order.....so not seasoned so much. David

havenfan Posted March 25, 2019 #37 Share Posted March 25, 2019 Another vote for Le Bistro over Cagney's the last few years.

Eaten at LeBistro dozens of times and Cagney's hundreds of times. Cagney's wins.
