stacied68 Posted March 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2019 My husband and I are doing the Sea Trek Helmet Diving in St. Maarten. Do you know what kind of shoes are required for this excursion? Also any idea how much the photos cost? Thanks Stacie
KansasBeachLover Posted April 15, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2019 We are wanting to do this too. Can anyone comment on this excursion and how good/bad it is?
stacied68 Posted April 20, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted April 20, 2019 We just dd the Sea Trek in St Maarten last week. My husband and I are in our 50s. I am a non swimmer so I was a little apprehensive at first. It was one of the best excursions ever. The helmet does not feel heavy in the water. My husband has a bad back and did not have any problems with it. At the bottom of the ladder, you have a "trail" to walk on with railings on each side. We saw a helicopter wreckage, cannons, and lots of fish. It was an amazing adventure. I highly recommend it.
LarryCruiser Posted April 28, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2019 We did it abut a week and a half ago. It was great. My 11 year old did it and loved it, my 8 year old unfortunately couldn't make it down the ladder to the sea floor (he's always had problems with his ears popping on airplanes, etc.). But the crew helps you stop every few steps down to equalize the pressure and they go over hand signals that let you communicate well with them. Once at the bottom it was amazing, there were so many fish and they swam right around us. We have a waterproof camera and took a ton of pictures, and they sell a USB drive that has both stock photos and photos of your group taken at various points by a diver who was at the bottom with us. I think it was around $30 (cash) or $35 (credit card). They give you shoes to wear, or any closed-toe water shoe is OK, I think.
