Balcony Breakfast

Is it possible to order a full, hot breakfast to enjoy on your balcony or does Carnival only allow you to order a Continental type breakfast? We're booked on a 12 night Spirit from Hawaii and have an aft balcony and we're really looking forward to the breakfasts on the balcony. Any advise???

Hi Eileen,

I have read numerous previous posts on this and other boards where cruisers have indeed ordered room service and enjoyed their breakfast out on the balcony. I leave later this morning to sail on the Miracle (I have a balcony room too), and enjoying breakfast sitting on the balcony is one of the things I plan to do!

Enjoy your cruise! icon_biggrin.gif

You will only get a continental breakfast through room service on Carnival. If you would like to eat breakfast on your balcony you can however go to the Lido Deck restaurants and fix a tray and take it back to your balcony. That's the only way you'll get a full breakfast out there.

I haven't seen any post such as you described. Unfortunately, Dick is correct. You can order lots of items from room service for b'fast, but a full, hot breakfast is not on the menu.

The Lido Deck breakfast tray is one option; however, if you go to the dining room at your regular 'seating' time, your waiter will give you the breakfast you want - in a covered container - to keep it hot/warm to take back to your cabin. icon_smile.gif

Stupid question of the day! icon_rolleyes.gif

What is everyone using for a table? We have the wrap around on the Victory and would love to eat breakfast out there. I don't mind going to the Lido to get a tray. However, I guess I have to do a balancing act on my lap!

I'd bet there is a 2 X 2 plastic table out there, or do the balancing routine.! I think we'll eat on the Lido Deck and bring big cups of coffee back for the balcony!!

Or have early bagels, biscuits and coffee before breakfast!! icon_cool.gif

When I was on a Celebrity cruise they also said that you could only get a continental breakfast, however, if you wrote in "hot items" on the menu slip, they would bring it. Do you think you can do the same on Carnival?

since you said "do you think"...

I'm really guessing the answer is NO!

Room service is limited to a certain menu, and a hot breakfast is not one of the the items. Hot beverages, but that's about it.

I've heard of some lines that do have this option, but Carnival is not one of them. icon_cool.gif

On the Legend there is a table-like thingy as mentioned above. It also can be used as an extension to the lounge chair as an ottoman. I can't imagine trying to eat a full breakfast from it. It's more like a low side table. You can't sit under it like a real table.

WOWSERS !! Thats 50 bucks per person. (its cheaper to eat in the specialty places)

Also unique to Caribbean Princess are the ship's "balcony" dining events. At dinner, staff will transform your balcony into an intimate restaurant for two, complete with properly set table, flowers, champagne and a deluxe four-course meal (including optional lobster course) -- all you need, in short, to feel like Bogie and Bacall. At a cost of $50 per person, alas.

I thought balcony was for PRE-Breakfast (bagels, fruit, etc.) and the Lido deck was for REAL breakfast. All my meals on the ship have a pre-event! icon_wink.gif
