Bugalugsnz Posted November 21, 2019 #26 Share Posted November 21, 2019 At Akaroa you can swim with dolphins or sea kayak to see the local wildlife.🐬
aussiekillarney Posted November 23, 2019 #27 Share Posted November 23, 2019 If your ship docks at Circular Quay it is right next door to the ferry terminal and the ferry to Taronga Zoo only takes about 15 minutes. Once you get there it is best to take the cable car up to the top of the zoo and walk back down. Taronga is a great zoo with lots of australian native animals as well as many other species and the views back to Sydney are well worth the trip. Circular Quay is also a great area with The Rocks and the Opera House being right there. In Perth it is very easy to take a ferry over to Rottnest Island to spend the day. It is a lovely place to wander around and have a swim ad the Quokkas are super cute.

Aussiekillarney, we are planning to do exactly what you have described for a trip to Taronga Zoo from Circular Quay. Thinking we will do that earlier in the day then ferry over to Manly for later afternoon and evening. Is there any particular ferry you would suggest to get to Taronga and then to Manly or do we just grab any ferry to Taronga then a ferry from Taronga to Manly? The local ferries run Circular Quay to Taronga return or Circular Quay to Manly return but dont have a Taronga to Manly route however there is a private one run by a company called Captain Cook cruises. Have a look at transportNSW for route info/times etc.
