Seattle 10:25 am flight?

Hi all,

We will disembark NCL Bliss in Seattle on August 25th and need to get to LAX for a 5 pm international flight that is already confirmed.

Is it reasonably safe to book a 10:25 flight from SEA to LAX?

Only other option would be noon, which leaves little time for the connection and separate check-in at LAX.

Some additional information:

As Haven guests we can be first off the ship. Bliss is scheduled to arrive at 6 am.

We would be flying domestic first, but do not have TSA precheck in case that makes a difference.

Thanks for your input!

What are the operating airlines?  And can we assume the flights are on separate tickets?  A big part of this is going to be where you arrive and depart at LAX.

My plan would be to be first off the boat by any means necessary, and take the first cab to the airport.  As first class passengers you can use the premium cabin security line which will usually be considerably shorter, but the actual experience will depend somewhat on the airline, as they use different concourses and/or satellites that are closer or farther from some of the checkpoints.  I suspect you'll make it.

Thanks Gardyloo,

SEA-LAX on Alaska and LAX-MUC on Lufthansa booked on separate tickets. So at LAX we will need to collect our bags and then go from terminal 6 to TBIT.

Never arrived in Seattle on a cruise, but I guess it is similar to Miami or NYC. So if NCL lists 6 am as arival time the ship should be docked long before that time. We can be off by 6:30, through immigration by 7 and at the airport before 8 if everything goes according to plan?

No idea if that will work.  The Bliss is pretty humoungous if memory serves, so if your timing is a bit off, you might find yourselves in a pretty long taxi queue.  But post customs, I'd imagine you'd be pretty safe with allowing an hour from the street to the check-in counters at Seatac.

The landside walk from T6 to TBIT at LAX is a pain but shouldn't take more than 10 or 15 minutes, so you ought to have plenty of time.

I did, however, want to throw out an idea that might be quite impossible, but hey, it's only bytes...

Lufthansa has a nonstop flight to Munich that departs from Vancouver at 6:25 PM the same day, arriving at MUC 15 minutes earlier than the LAX flight.  In addition, there's a bus (Quick Coach) which picks up passengers from the Seattle cruise terminals and delivers them to the Sky Train (light rail) station at a casino that's around 10 minutes from YVR airport.  The summer schedule - https://www.quickcoach.com/schedule.htm - shows a 10:30 AM pickup and a 2:20 PM arrival, which would give you gobs of time to get to YVR.

I don't know how much the change fee would be with Lufthansa, but I'd compare it to the cost of a cab to SEA from Pier 66 and the cost of the flight to LAX, less the cost of the bus to YVR.  Maybe a pointless exercise, but maybe not.

Thanks for taking the time to check for alternatives, but the LAX-MUC flight is a restricted saver award I already booked using miles, so there is no changes possible...

Guess I will gamble and book the 10:25 flight!
