Hi, we come of the ship in FortLauderdale and our flight is from Miami but not until evening, is there somewhere in Miami we can leave our luggage during the day so we can do a spot of sightseeing? Or are we better to hire a car for the day? Or does the ship do tours, were on Carnival Magic in July. Thank you

All of the above.  There is "Luggage Lounge" in South Beach you can leave your luggage for the day and enjoy wandering South Beach.

Renting a car would work fine.  You need to make sure you can drop it off at Miami even though renting at Fort Lauderdale.

And yes, ships always have excursions where they keep your luggage on the bus and drop you off at the airport afterwards, Miami or Fort Lauderdale.  Just pick the right one.  Keep in mind what time the excursion ends as it may be earlier than you want to get to the airport.

Or Uber from PE to MIA, pay to store your bags there, and then ride the Airport Flyer bus to South Beach for about $3 each.  Same bus will get you back to MIA.

That's a great idea, too.
