How does it work if you do not have a drinks package on Meraviglia?

Hi,

my husband, two kids aged 8 and 11 and myself have booked a Fantastica cruise to the Baltic in July aboard the Meraviglia.

we did not take any drinks package as it's just too expensive.

. we will indulge in a glass of wine once or twice that we'pay as we go, that should be enough.

what about water at the restaurant in the evening? I guess we'll have to pay for a  water bottle, but can we keep it if we don't finish it, or do we have to buy a brand new one every day? I' m not trying to be cheap but just trying to evaluate the overall cost of the whole thing!

thanks

I've not seen the Mineral Water & Coffee promotion on the European booking site.  On the US/UK/Ireland sites it's only on specific itineraries, it's currently only on the July 21 & 27 for US bookings.  If you have the package it will be listed on your booking information, if not you will possibly need to pay for bottled water in the main dining room and specialty restaurants.  I have not sailed MSC in Europe but there have been numerous reports of it being difficult to get a glass of "tap" water in the restaurants.  Unfortunately if you read reviews you will find varied answers because MSC is kind of random about which booking countries and what sailings get free bottled water, and also their policy has changed over time.  Only the buffet is always said to have water by the glass readily available.

Just to clarify, Até - for the UK and Ireland, water, tea & coffee is included on all sailings:

https://www.msccruises.ie/en-ie/MSC/Water-Tea-Coffee-Guests.aspx

We all know how much you love your favourite blend of tea or filtered coffee, we won’t travel without it!

MSC Cruises has taken this so seriously that they will now be offering a complimentary package of tea, water, and filtered coffee to all guests who book a new cruise! This offer is available on ALL new bookings made from 1st May 2018 and
will be available to all guests on all our ships.

The hot drinks and water will be offered to guests during lunch and dinner in the main dining room. Yes, you read that right! Book a new cruise from today, on any ship, in any destination, and you'll receive the package completely on the house. So whether, you’re in the hot climates of the Caribbean and need to cool off with fresh water, or you’re travelling to Northern Europe and need a hot cuppa or a filter coffee – we’ll give you what you need, when you need it.
