I asked MSC afterward and was told we could choose to eat in the MDR instead if we wished.

We spent 21 days in the YC on the Divina this past Nov-Dec.  One evening we decided it might be nice to give the MDR a try (just to compare it to Le Muse) and asked our concierge about going to the MDR.  She told us that we were NOT permitted to dine in the MDR as Le Muse was our assigned restaurant.

hmmmm. I thought we weren't assigned to any restaurant.  Even in reg cabin, you can eat at either MDR, although making a reservation prior does save time from waiting.  Even MSC website mentioned that you can eat any restaurant, you will have priority seating at MDR as YC as do Aurea.

Not quite.  On the back of your card, you will see "Restaurant:  Yacht Club" (on Seaside, for example), or "Restaurant:  Le Muse" (Divina).
