Tampa - Alamo or other car rental?

Has anyone used Alamo downtown? I'm looking to pick-up downtown and return to TPA the following day. Any recommendations or advice? Thanks!

We've had good luck with Avis in the Embassy Suites downtown.

Yes.  National, Avis and Enterprise have locations close to the port. If you get a better deal from someone else at TO A an Uber from the port is only $15-17

They do, but our experience has been that the employees get busy and may not be able to respond promptly to shuttle requests.  About half the time we take a taxi, which is a flat rate of around $6 per person to the port.
