teacherman Posted May 1, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2019 Will be taking my C-PAP machine on a 17 night Zuiderdam cruise. Are there electric outlets close to the bed? Do I need to bring an extension chord? It is a verandah cabin.
TAD2005 Posted May 1, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2019 The only electrical outlets are at the desk. Now that they have eliminated the DVD players and moved the TV over to the wall at the foot of the bed, that opened up a few more outlets. But they are all at the desk. I bring a 12 ft plain vanilla extension cord (no surge suppressor), and I sleep on the left side of the bed with my CPAP. I also bring a European to US plug adapter so I can use the 220 outlets as well as the 120 outlets. With most CPAP machines in the last 10 years, they can be powered by anything from 100 volts to 240 volts. Do not try to use the outlet in the bathroom. That outlet is switchable from 120 to 220, but is only rated for shavers. Not a CPAP or a hair dryer. Before the room service guy brings our breakfast tray, I always stow the extension cord so he doesn't trip over it. I also remove the facemask and tubing because the room steward may have problems working around it when making your bed each day.
CATandSQUID Posted May 1, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2019 I travel with a CPAP. I ask the room steward for an extension cord as soon I see him, one is always delivered by dinner. You can order the ditilled water the same place you order beverages.
