What would you like to see on the Challenger series?

What is on your wishlist?

I would love the OPTION of some form of Personal Choice Dining.

IHMO, a great dining option for VIP's, Elite, etc. would be a table in the galley of the speciality restaurant(s).

What are your ideas?

I would love to see a club floor and/or conceirge level similar to those offered at some of the finer hotels. The club level provides a private lounge that offers several presentations of food a day along with cordials, wines, champagnes, soft drinks, water extra. It would be included with a certain level/category of stateroom. I believe that Holland America has these lounges on their ships now.

The lounge could also provided a private conceirge for booking shore excursions, making spa and dining reservations, etc.

I think it would be great!!

Yes, I agree with the concierge level atmosphere--HAL has their Neptune Lounge for suite level pax!:D

The swim up bar is another great idea! Love those on land---why NOT a ship???? :D

The dining idea is also a good one Flagger, BUT----with SO many pax, it sure would be hard to accomodate a lot wouldn't it?

I think we need something to liven upthe atmosphere like a roller coaster or a NASCAR track.

I like the Idea A go cart version like they have @ Disney World would be great fun for adults and children. My DH would love the roller coaster as well.

The swim up bar is also a good idea, and could be done not really all that far fetched.

I would like a retractable roof for over the pool also heated for those European and Alaskan cruises.

Think space usage.

Maybe an expanded video archade with 4 linked race cars.

Then have a tourney or two one day and or night during the cruise as a get together for young and old. Boat champ for best time on the course.

Expanded specialty resturant to include Lunch!!!!!! At a lesser rate to use it.

Expanded T pool area - maybe adults only T pool and jacuzzi's.

I can tell you what I don't want...

1) Gold by the Inch and discount t-shirt racks

2) In pool pillow fights

3) Parade of the poolside sorbet

4) Waving dirty napkins at baking Alaska on formal night.

5) Stale breadsticks in the bar

Hi Everyone !

I have about 100 items I would like to see, but here is a very short list:

Things I would like to see :

--------------------------

I would like to see a Video Wall / Movies on the Pool Deck. I think the idea of watching movies at night, is awesome.

Larger seating area, and more chairs at the Pool.

At least 2-3 Themed Specialty Restaurants.

A Dedicated Sushi area.

A Central Promenade, similar to Voyager Class ships.

Improved traffic flow in the Buffet area

Improved Internet / Wi-Fi Options.

1 Deck Dedicated to Concierge / Suite Level.

A Dedicated Lounge for Suite & Elite Captains Club Members.

Larger Casino Area, (perhaps an area for Texas Hold 'Em that many are asking for)

No Steps in the Theater. Use Slopes/Ramps instead of Steps. I have seen far too many people Fall or Trip in the Theaters.

And Last, but certainly not least.... Pods that have No Problems :)

Things I do NOT want to see :

-----------------------------

Personal Choice Dining ( I know this will spark a debate, but that's fine ! ) If it HAS to happen, I would want it to be an Option, and continue to have the choice of Assigned Seating.

Any Gimmicks.... for example - Ice Skating, Wave Pool, Rock Climbing etc.

Johnny Rockets

This is a great thread. Keep the ideas coming !

I agree with Andy, absolutely no personal choice dining, would make Celebrity just like NCL. I would also like Celebrity to announce what the real name of the ship is going to be. Challenger is not official, it is from the many rumors from those supposedly in the know.

If possible, would like to see Celebrity go back to when they were a fairly new cruiseline looking for business in attitude and service. Food quality where is was ten years ago, fix stateside customer service. Finally, CC upgrades to veranda or even concierge or suites where appropriate, perhaps depending on number of cruises.

I would also like to see someone fix these darn (expletive deleted) boards.

ROTFLMAO!!!

I thought I was the only one that thinks having someone else's used dinner napkin waved in your face at the dinner table is disgusting.

Glad to hear that I'm not alone!

I think the new ships should have a private lounge for Cruise Critic members, with free drinks of course......

I like it Jerry ... I thought about that too, but I wondered if it would be in good taste to put it on my list. Now that you brought it up, I think it would be great to have a designated area (even if very small) for our Cruise Critic friends. I wonder if it could actually happen ?

Another idea, would be to use the proposed Concierge/Elite/Suite Lounge for Cruise Critic get-togethers.

Hi Prince !

I totally agree with # 1, 4, and 5 (especially #4, !)

IMHO, I enjoy the poolside sorbet very much. It is very refeshing on a Hot Afternoon. I do think a few of the flavors need much improvement though. I definately hope that does not go away.

As for the pool pillow fights ? Well, its good fun, and ususally gets a good laugh, and response from the crowd. My guess is, they will continue.

I like that on Princess there is the OPTION of traditional dining, but there are still choices for those who want choices without having to sail on another line. It would be nice for Celebrity to emulate.

As far as Internet, I think they should offer a product worthy of the premium fee charged. Reading other reports on other ships, it seems that Celebrity is the most expensive with the s l o w e s t speeds afloat. It shouldn't cost you money write an email or post before getting online when using one of the ship's computers.

Totally agree about the table games in the casino. The BJ tables on the Infinity had places for nine or ten players, but seating I think for just five people. It looked set up for one player to play two hands at once.

Would be nice to see self leveling pool tables.

I agree about a big NO to P*ss-poor choice dining. I hope it never happens on any Celebrity ship.

I'd like to see the dress codes actually enforced on the new ships, and what the heck, the older ships, too. :D

I'd like to see those lighted magnifying makeup mirrors in every cabin, like HAL has on their newer ships.

I'd like to see bathtubs in every cabin.

Free drinks, of course.:o

How about in-cabin (or better yet balcony) Thelassotherapy pool? Ahh...nice

Seriously though for cabin improvements how about:

1. Wall-mounted flat screen tv's. It would be nice to have extra storage that a 20" tv occupies. Maybe room for larger refrigerator?

2. Video on demand in the cabin with capability to use interactive replay services for port information, ship information and picking and choosing relevant announcements for replay.

3. Integration of the interactive TV to do more than look at your S&S folio. Interactive room service, send message to room steward etc?

4. LED lighting. It is energy efficient and very versatile.

Andy:

Hi, I agree with you about the lounge. The cruise lines should go check out some of the land based casino's and see how they treat their repeat customers. Free meals, private clubs, special events that you might want to go to. I guess this is more of a Captains Club request with different levels but they could learn alot from the Casinos.

Pool large enough for swimming laps.

A real thalassotherapy pool like on the Century class.

Wrap around promendade deck.

Shoe racks in closet.

Most importantly no 117,000 tons. 60,000 tons is more like it.
