Air travel from Yichang to Shanghai

I am considering a Yangtze River Cruise ending in Yichang. The cruise ends with a tour of 3 Gorges Dam. My question is: Can you catch a late morning flight to get the Shanghai?   My Asian cruise begins the next day so I would like to arrive in Shanghai the night before.  Please respond if you have made this connection. Thank you.

When we were there in 2015, the bus that took us from Yichang to Wuhan (where we caught the flight back to Shanghai) was a four-hour ride. Not sure which river boat you are taking but ours was the Gold 8. We left the boat with a packed breakfast at 6:00 in the morning. If you are touring the Three Gorges Dam that morning, I doubt that you would be able to catch a flight late morning. Again, that was four years ago, so things might have changed.

While we’d like to see the Dam, I was thinking we’d have to miss it. Your answer confirmed this. Thank you

We ended in Yichang and caught an early afternoon flight which got us into Shanghai late afternoon.

Was this recently? Did you skip the dam at the end to make the flight?  Thank you.

It was in 2014, we didn’t have to skip the dam.  Are you going through a travel agent or tour company?  The dam was part of the cruise so nobody got off early.
