Janef Posted May 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2019 We are on the Equinox at the end of June and looking at these excursions for Tortola and can’t decide which to do. Either the Virgin Gorda Bath and snorkel which you have to swim about 300 yards from the boat to the baths or the Tour to the Virgin Gorda Baths. Any advice and has anyone done either of these? Don’t know how the crowds will be. Thanks!
blue_water Posted May 14, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2019 We’ve only been on our own while staying on Tortola but I can tell you the swim in from the mooring can be very hard, we saw some striping swimmers struggle and need a rest when they made it. It depends on the sea conditions at the time of course. Whether the Baths are crowded depends on when you arrive as compared to folks who ferry over. If you decide on the ferry/taxi option also consider going on your own for a bit more flexibility. Read previous threads for more details on that option... blue_water Posted June 4, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 4, 2019 (edited) I am editing this reply, I was thinking this was in regards to Jost and flip flops would be perfect there, but it is the Baths, sorry. Yes for the Baths I would suggest a sturdy pair of sandals or water shoes. Edited June 4, 2019 by blue_water
