Grabbing cab from Amsterdam Airport to hotel

When I first started planning our cruise departing out of Amsterdam, I had planned on booking either a private driver or the shuttle from the airport to our hotel. But for some reason I got the idea to just grab a cab while at the airport.

 

Am I nuts? There will be 3 of us with about 2 pieces of luggage each.

That is no problem. However donot take the cabs offered inside the terminal, most of them are not legal. Take the one utside the terminal, just follow the signs.

Is there a way to know which cabs are legal?

If they are at the taxi rank, they are legal. If they are trying to get you to go with them from inside the terminal, they are not.

Indeed, to find them follow the taxi signs. Once outside you will also see signs on the pavement.

Yes, but the  pickup place has changed a few times. I cannot tell where exactly it will be. Also sometimes it seems to be as expensive as regular cabs I was told.
