fstuff1 Posted May 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2019 (edited) Regular cruisenext is for cruises 6 days or more. For cruises less than that that, it's cruisenext lite. Except if it's cuba. Then you can use regular cruisenext certs no matter how few the days Edited May 22, 2019 by fstuff1
Motegi Posted May 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2019 Don’t recommend them. Too restrictive. Go with the regular certs instead. We bought 4 CruiseNext Lite certs a few years ago in anticipation of a family group cruise to the Bahamas later that same year. Unfortunately NCL decided to change the itinerary a few months after to Cuba rather than the Bahamas. The family members that were cruising with us were not interested in Cuba. Since NCL restricted CruiseNext Lite to just 3-4 day cruises on the Sky and it now was going to Cuba we ended up not using them and booking on MSC instead. MSC turned out to be amazing! But then Pam and I were stuck with 4 Lite certs. Resale options would’ve incurred a loss of 10% at the very least so we held onto them. We like the Sky but didn’t want to cruise it 4 times back to back. So what ended up happening is we put together another family group cruise for later this year with Pam’s family. We paid for everyone’s cabins and it allowed us to use the certs all at once.
browniegirl Posted May 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2019 When we bought 4 regular cruise next certs, we were assured and we asked many times because we didn't believe them, that we only bought 4 so that we could put it 100% towards a suite booking with no additional payment. Person selling them on board promised us yes, if we bought 4, we could use that for a suite. Haha, well get home, try to book a suite, and nope!!! Was told by NCl rep that this person gave us very wrong info.... we can use them against a suite but we also have to pay a huge deposit on top of it (not like the old days). So beware!!!
