bungee cord question...

Just booked a cat. 12 on the Fascination in May and need info about bungee cords to keep the balcony door open. Do they need to be a certain length? I'm not sure if all bungee cords are the same length or not. Also how exactly do you use them to keep the door open? Do we need a magnet to keep the air on? I remember reading something about a magnet.

Thanks for the help. I know this has been asked many times before but the search on this site NEVER works for me, always an "error".

We took 3 different sizes of cords as we were not sure ourselves. Since your arrangement may be differnt then ours, I would recommend the same. In our case, it was the longer cord (about 12" in it's relaxed position). Your cabin/experience may vary.

I have seen threads on the magnet issue as well. In our case, we were not aware of the trick and just left the door open when we wanted to. It did not seem to affect the ambient temps in the cabin. Of course this was a Mexico cruise in March so the weather was not overly hot.

We normally use a 12" to 18" Bungee Cord - I wrap it around the door handle and put both ends on the iron stantion -

I don't fool with the A/C but I suppose if you wanted to you could just put a good old piece of Duct Tape over the button -

We had a Balcony the last couple of trips and not it would be hard to change back -

Going on the Pride over Mother Day (May 9, 2004) and then on the Miracle in December - Balcony both trips -

Have fun -

icon_razz.gif Trust me--get a small wedged piece of wood (like a door stop, but a little thicker on the big end)--works much quicker and better than the bungees.
