Port of Newcastle

Recommended Posts

You are shown where to park your car and then go to the terminal where they take your luggage from you.  You are then taken about 100 yards by bus to another building where you will be issued with a  number.  When your number is called you go to a booth where they take your photo and credit card details then issue your ships card. You can then board the ship. There is a small cafe while you wait.  All very easy.

I would advise you go about 11am, we did and were on the ship at 12.30.  We went to our cabin which was not ready but we could leave our bags in the wardrobe. Had lunch before it got busy.  It's so relaxing compared to flying!

Thanks, we'll do that.  What do they do with you for 1hr 30 mins?  Is that just volume of people slowing it down?

Yes, looking forward to not having a long flight to get to the boat.  We are in NI but will be able to get a puddle hopper over with Easyjet, probably the evening before.

The time goes very quickly. By the time you've parked, checked in and had a coffee you are on board.  If you are flying in the night before you can stay at the Premier Inn, only 10  minutes walk away
