My DW and I like to have a gin martini at the beginning of our dinner.  We prefer Tanqueray Ten gin, which is a “top shelf” gin brand for our martini. Does Viking carry Tanqueray Ten gin or are we going to have to BYOB (bring your own bottle)and will they allow us to bring it to the table like a bottle of wine.

Not sure how we’re going to carry the bottle and martini shaker down the hallways yet!

Hi,

Im sure they have Tanqueray as I like a little G&T. I also believe they have Hendricks.

Viking do let you bring a bottle on board, they are very forward thinking and the bar prices are very reasonable. On average we would have a pre dinner drink and a couple of spirits/ cocktails afterwards and we were pleasantly surprised by our bill. I believe if a company isn’t fleecing you for every penny then guests will relax and have a few drinks after dinner. We took a bottle of gin for the cabin and the steward brought us ice and room service brought us lemons so we could sit on the balcony and have a relaxing time. It’s all very civilised!

An online 2018 Living Room Bar menu I saw only listed Beefeaters and Gordons Gin. I suspect that if they have Tanqueray at all, it will not be Tanqueray Ten.

I am at Living Room bar .. having a cup of tea I should mention.

There is a bottle of Tanqueray Imported on the shelf (a green bottle). I’m not a gin drinker so I am not sure if this is good news for you ?

There is also a Hendricks in a dark bottle.

Thanks to everyone’s input.  Tanqueray Imported although a good gin is the brands “regular” gin and has a different flavour than Tanqueray no. 10.

I’ll just bring my own bottle, can’t have everything go my way on vacation just go with the flow and don’t sweat the small stuff.

It’s great Viking allows us to bring our own most cruise lines don’t allow you to bring your own wine or liquor
