Cheaper than when I booked???

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

If anyone can confirm or not if I am reading this right or not??

Booked NCL Jade, departing on 13/10/19.  For 2 adults.

Inside cabin @ £1749 per person all inclusive drinks, 60 mins WiFi and gratuity’s etc. Have paid £100 deposit.

With the current offers looks like that I can do it so much cheaper, even sacrificing the deposit,

is this right???

aaaggghhhh

Thanks in advance

It is true that prices fluctuate frequently after booking.   Lately, they seem to go up more often than down.  However, down is frequent as a cruise date approaches if the cruise isn't selling well.   Fortunately for the US, we can cancel and rebook at the new lower price, if there is one, before final payment.  Occasional price drops are something you can expect though.

Worth a call to NCL to see if they can help with a refund or OBC or such. Remembering that if they do rebook you at a lower price, your prevailing offers may change. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

...I've found asking nicely has worked very well!

At first glance it looks like it... what Inside Cabin Type did you book? I'm happy to run through a mock booking to help you check.

The one thing you'll be missing from your original booking would be the included bottled water (it's included with the old All Inclusive pricing but not the new Free At Sea upgrade options)... but personally that wouldn't affect my decision.

Nope they can't stop you. I'd do the same.

They certainly can't stop you.

I've done it a couple of times. Just phone up and let them know what you want to do. You will. as I think you understand, lose your deposit, but they will be quite happy to work through it with you.

Hi,

Inside cabin on deck 8, but where it is does not matter to us.

Happy to book sail away inside.

We tip tip as we go also...so happy to remove prepaid charges too.

I reckon it’s a saving of almost £1400 if I am reading this right...

hope so..

thanks for your help...

Be aware that if you don't prepay the gratuities they will automatically be added to your on board account. I've stopped pre-paying mine... not to stop paying them, but to pay them after my cruise rather than before.

And yep, if you go for sailaway you're making a huge saving! Well spotted! 🙂

Only sailed once before with NCL the Getaway Baltic and we tipped as went, it’s what we prefer to do. We just opted out at guest services after boarding.

I would also select the dining package along with beverage package as the two offers for the £99 upgrade.

Not fussed about internet, we are in Europe so our phones are covered as it stands!!

Do you know how the dining works for a 11 night cruise??

Thanks again..

I recently booked an 11 night cruise and figured out based on the gratuity I was charged that we were given 5 nights as the dining perk so you can expect the same.

Enjoy!!

in Uk we lose deposit if we cancel and rebook unlike in USA

be aware if you had a reduced deposit they could sting you for full £500 deposit so factor this in to price drop

be careful about opening the can of worms that is cancel DSC so can "tip as you go along"

we have both USA and UK PCCs so check which one is better for us at each cruise and likelihood of price drops

they have recently discontinued all inclusive in UK which included DSC as well s a litre of bottled water per day-try fittiing  that amount in a cabin over a 14 day cruise !!!

main thing to be aware of perks of UBP and dining package are truly free if booked in UK but in US attract 18% taxes on value of package as if bought at full price
