Lyft/Uber in Hawaii

Hi 🙂

Will be on the POA in June/July. Will Lyft/Uber be widely available from the airport to Hilton Hawaiian Village? To/from port? At other ports of call? Thanks!

Both Lyft and Uber are plentiful in Honolulu and function just as fast as you would expect them to at home. 

 

Outside of Honolulu (and I include the rest of Oahu) both services on the other islands are not as easy to plan for-- sometimes waits can be 15-20 minutes or more. I've also noticed in places like Maui that Uber drivers only tend to work from the early evening on-- presumably thats when people are drinking and there is more demand. It was next to impossible to get one earlier in the day but one was 5 minutes away starting from about 6pm until late (and late in Maui is like 11pm-- the islands go to bed early).
