akswimmom Posted June 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2019 I noticed when looking at the 2021 cruise schedule for La Havre that Royal princess is listed for dates that seem to indicate a British Isle cruise schedule. I thought that Royal would be staying in Alaska with the Regal joining her in 2021? Would they really change the ships like that or are they just using the Royal as a "placeholder"? Thoughts/comments? Jenny

Summer 2021 has not opened for booking yet. It is certainly conceivable that Princess is rethinking having two Royal-class in Alaska in the future. They wouldn't want to cancel Regal's expected Transpacific that spring so in 2021 Royal could end up doing the LA-Ft Laud/Ft Laud-Southampton back to back that Emerald did earlier this year. As for "are they just using the Royal ship name as a placeholder?" wasn't there the same reaction when the 2018 port schedules showing Sapphire Princess in Europe appeared before Princess' deployment announcement? "No way Sapphire is repositioned after all these years in Asia/Australia" but she was. Don't be surprised if a lot of the expected Summer 2021 deployments do not turn to be what is logically anticipated based on where ships are at the end of Spring on the latest cruises open for booking at this point. With Cuba no longer a possibility Princess has to decide where to send Pacific in 2021 which could result is a cascade of changes up the entire fleet for the rest of that year.
