allboys27 Posted June 10, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2019 I understand some ports allow you to take pre-packaged (but unopened) food/snacks off the ship along with bottles of water. Does anyone know if Bermuda allows this?
njhorseman Posted June 10, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2019 (edited) We've never had a problem taking factory sealed packages and bottles of water off the ship in Bermuda. Not that I've been to every port in the world, but I have cruised extensively and have never been to a port where you couldn't take a bottle of water off the ship. allboys27 Posted June 10, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted June 10, 2019 Great news- thanks!! A few extra waters while roasting in the sun will come in handy...so will the extra snacks for my bottomless pit boys LOL
SuzeCruz1 Posted June 11, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2019 It's not a bad idea to bring packaged snacks from home and take a few with you when you go ashore. They can be pricey on board. We took peanut butter n crackers, Combos, Welch's fruit snacks, etc., when we cruised with our grandsons last year. They came in very handy. pacruise804 Posted June 13, 2019 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2019 We had no issues taking our hydration backpack off the ship with us at Bermuda.
2specialkidsforme Posted June 20, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 20, 2019 (edited) We were in Bermuda two weeks ago and the only thing you could not take off was fruit. As you left, they did check bags and asked if you had fruit. Edited June 20, 2019 by 2specialkidsforme

2specialkidsforme Posted June 20, 2019 #8 Share Posted June 20, 2019 We were on the Escape sailing June 2-9th. After you left the ship as you walked through the little building they had several people sitting at a table checking bags. The first day they checked our bag. The following two days they just asked if we had fruit which we did not. Hope that helps

Most of the they do nothing but there is no way of predicting. Possibly it depends on staffing or if they caught someone bringing fruit off the ship.
