illiniwahoo Posted June 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2019 This will be my parents first cruise after my dad's stroke. He can do short distances with a walker, and otherwise needs a wheelchair. We are renting a scooter for the cruise. My dad has gotten pretty good about holding the walker while someone else pushes the wheelchair. But with the scooter, he will obviously need to drive it. What do you do with the walker, other than have one of us carry it?
katisdale Posted June 22, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2019 I leave the walker in the cabin. I can use two canes (mine break down) to move from the scooter to a chair if desired. Most of the time I just stay on the scooter unless in the room.
ginnynj Posted June 22, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2019 Bring some long Velcro strips, or a couple of bungee cords to secure it to the scooter (and keep it closed) while Dad is motoring around. That might work and save having one of you carry it. Hope you all have a great cruise!

GUT2407 Posted June 27, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2019 You can get a bracket, ask the company you are renting through if they have them.

suebee53 Posted July 7, 2019 #9 Share Posted July 7, 2019 If it's a regular walker and not a rollator, I'd get a harness from Monster Scooter Parts. It hangs on the back of the scooter seat. https://www.monsterscooterparts.com/walker-holder-scooters.html
