Taxi cost

We will be doing a scuba dive while in Roatan this time around and have contacted several dive companies. The one we REALLY want to go with does not provide transportation (as all the others do for a flat rate...which REALLY varies). 

 

How much would it cost from Coxenhole to West Bay for a family of 2 adults and 1 child? I might have to do this on my own. Even though I have been to Roatan many times, I have always done something that involves pick up either inside or right outside the port. How would I go about getting a cab? Just walk out the gates and grab one? Is this a place that you can trust with doing this or is it better to have something arranged?

Ran across this link.  There's drop downs for you, but looks like for 3 passengers to West Bay it's $70 RT.

 

As I recall at Coxen Hole most of the taxis line up right out side the port gate.  But you'll need to verify a pick up for return.  And despite the nonsense of a taxi union (like Coz) I'm sure you can negotiate a bit.  As always, be ready to walk away if you don't like what the driver tells you.

I used a guy that dealt with one of the hotels I stayed at recently. He wanted $20 to take me from West Bay to Sol Y Mar. I negotiated with him for half price - $10. His name is Anthony Villatoro and his number is 504-9743-8395. You should be able to reach him on WhatsApp. I will use him again for my next trip down there.

We have used Ronystours.com for many years.  Email him.  He may have others headed that way.  I wouldn't trust just any driver.  Rony is very trustworthy and all-around great guy.

I would tend to agree, but being my hotel does business with this guy, I felt safe. He was very professional and I will be using him again. As a woman that travels solo, safety is my number one priority.
