mame42 Posted June 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2019 For anyone who has done overland tours in Africa, what type electrical outlets are found where? I know that many places use Type M, but there is no consistency. Any info appreciated.
Cotswold Eagle Posted June 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2019 (edited) As you have correctly identified, it varies so widely it is impossible to be general (and you’ll frequently find a mix). Bluntly, it sometimes depends on who was the former colonial power, so U.K. or Euro style sockets. A universal adapter may be ideal! Type M is really only generally found in Southern Africa, but certainly consider one for South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini (Swaziland) and Mozambique. What countries are are you considering?
