Boston cruise port to Freedom Trail

We would like to take public transport from the Boston Cruise Port to the Freedom Trail.  Where do we get the Silver Line once we get off the ship?

Is exact change required?   Can we purchase a round trip ticket?

Thank you

They do take cash for Silver Line Street stops.  You would likely be returning from a subway station where you would buy a ticket from the machine.

official Silver Line bus stops are at either end of Black Falcon Ave, but sometimes they will stop near the terminal entrance.  If your ship is docked at the east end of the pier (not the main terminal), the stop is by Dry Dock Ave & Black Falcon Ave.  just ask when you get off the ship.
