We ended up booking aft balcony on NA VB5193.

I am not concerned with a bathtub (thank you PaperSniper for the tip) but a nice balcony is really quite important. We have never sailed AFT so we are looking forward to that experience. MixerDave that is a balcony I could thoroughly enjoy!

My wife likes a tub very much, so I book that whenever possible. However, we have sailed in many aft aka stern view cabins, and we like them very much also. If I could find a Princess mini-suite or a HAL ship with an aft view that would be what I'd book. But alas, I have only lucked out that way once on the HAL Eurodam.....heck, I book our cruises usually 15 months in advance and still have a tough time finding what we (she!) wants! <g> But there is really no such thing as a "bad" cabin on a cruise ship.....at least not in our experience of 35+ cruises so far.😎

I really like your response Doug!  It is great that you prioritize the tub for your wife! Pretty cool.

We booked this Princess Cruise 15 months out, and a HAL cruise on NA 12 months out.

Our TA suggested that grabbing the surprisingly available aft cabins on both would not be anything we would regret. So we decided to go for it. On Princess, the difference in the price was very small so I am still wondering if this is the best decision but like you said, no bad cabins!
