Nicksmom333 Posted July 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2019 We booked the Armonia for Cuba, and after the change a month ago we opted to keep our AUG cruise and take the $400 credit. However, when I look online the price is $1000 less than what we paid! Does anyone have any experience with MSC offering OBC for the difference? Thanks! saxkid Posted July 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2019 I called and asked for an upgrade, and got one, keeping my $400 in OBC. I did not ask for the difference in credit. All I said was "I'm on this sailing, and I"ve noticed the price has dropped significantly, is it possible to get an upgrade? " And I went from an O2 to a B2 (oceanview to Fantastica balcony) It's definitely worth calling.
rwdtgb Posted July 5, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2019 I called and went from an OV to an S3 Aurea for a hundred bucks more than what we were paying for our October 28. We got to keep our$400.00 credit s well. Our sailing has over 200 empty cabins and I am sure more will cancel as the final payment come due on July 29th. Nicksmom333 Posted July 5, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted July 5, 2019 We are already booked in the Aurea Suite-there is nothing to upgrade too! That's why I thought maybe OBC...
CruisingFox27 Posted July 5, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 5, 2019 We've switched our Armonia booking but I just had a quick look at prices, we were a suite with Premium drinks included. To book the same now, without Cuba still comes out at the same price - if I used the OBC for the drinks package. I was expecting it to have reduced. That's why I thought maybe OBC... How much is the penalty to cancel and rebook? That may be your best bet. In the USA Armonia prices are dropping already and I expect the fall sailings to end up bargain basement low. I noticed today that MSC is showing Armonia sold out for some fall sailings. I suspect this isn't actually true. They may have pulled all inventory until after final payment to stop people from doing exactly what I recommend :).
