Switching out Elite Minibar

I personally switch it all out for bottles of water, but you can switch it out for any beverages like sodas, sparkling water, or whatever else they usually initially stock the fridge with.

You raise a good point. I have done this several times—since the bottles are within TSA regs, I have never had them confiscated at security. But, a little research reveals you are correct, taking the bottles on board a plane is legal, drinking them on board is not. Thanks!
