moatenote Posted August 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2019 We're going on the Mediterranean Odyssey cruise in September 2020, and some friends would like to join us. However, the cruise is now sold out. Does Viking have waiting lists they can go on?? And what might be the chances they'll get a place??
kcpvwill Posted August 6, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2019 Not sure if the US will be the same as the UK but we phoned the London office and they put us on an unofficial waitlist for ‘In the Wake of this Vikings’. We continued to monitor the site and spotted a vacancy and within hours we had a call from Viking about this just as we were considering ringing them. It was for a V guarantee cabin ie we have a cabin but it will be allocated on board. We are going in September and look forward to finding out our cabin. It may be anywhere but we are happy with getting the cruise we wanted and the efficiency of Viking. If you want a specific cabin type this may not work for you. Cabins do become available on a regular basis if you monitor the site.

More than likely, you will find out before you board. We booked in December for a sailing less than 4 weeks away. Our cabin was assigned 4 days before we boarded. However, others who have booked V-GTY have reported that they have learned their cabin assignment well before 4 days prior to boarding. We ended up in with a cabin on the same side of the ship and in the same DV4 category we would have chosen for ourselves.
