Carnival Players Club cruise offers question

Hello all.  I went on a Carnival cruise in June and played a lot in the casino. Since then I've gotten a free cruise to the Western Caribbean in November with balcony for 2 and a seat in a slot tournament finals, which I'm taking and really excited about. It did not include a drink package, but the flight to Galveston was cheap enough for me to grab it and go.

I guess I lost plenty of money in the casino in June because today I got an email for elite players club cruises that include free balcony for two, free drink packages (everywhere, not just casino), $1500 on board credit, and a bunch of other nice perks.  However, these cruises are out of Australia with pricy flights.  It sounds really cool, but it still would be a pricey adventure for me and my husband due to the cost of flying.

My question to you all is, how often are these kinds of offers going to come to heavy casino players like me? Should I jump on this (by October) or will I likely see more offers that are more attractive for travel costs?  I love cruising, regardless of the destinations, but my husband won't be interested in every cruise, though he is interested in going to Europe or Australia.

Also, how attractive are the Australian Pacific islands (Noumea, Lifou Isle, Mare, and Isle of Pines) when the high temperatures in July are typically in the mid to low 70's F?

In Jan.of 2015, I went on a cruise, and spent alot of time and money in the casino. Then in Sept. of that same year, I went on another cruise. I did spend a lot of time in the casino, but did not spend much money, this time. I haven't cruised since, but would like to. This past year, I have received numerous offers, both by e-mail, as well as by snail mail. Ultras, elites, premiers, red hot offers, etc. Cash play would be $200.00 to $500.00, with many types of cabins:  balconies, ocean view, and inside cabins. One offer was from S.F. to Singapore, and another was one out of Australia. (I think the weather in those islands would be pleasant, even though it would be winter.). From reading some of these posts, I think they send out offers to people who have not cruised recently, unless perhaps one is a high roller. So, in answer to your question, yes, keep checking for offers! Happy cruising!

I would love to know what people mean by a lot of money. I know it’s really not my business but it’s so hard seeing these comments and my and my hubbys offers are terrible. It’s seems like Carnivals offers are not that great.  The problem is what I think is a lot of money might not be to another person. I do know many are complaining that they have been with Carnival for a long time and are not getting the offers.

This thread is about offers from the casino, not from Carnival. I know a few people who frequently get really good casino offers, but they gamble thousands of dollars every cruise. Like you mentioned, I have no idea what the casino considers a lot of money.

As for offers from Carnival, they seem to get worse the longer you are with them. I have been platinum for awhile, but my sister who is still red gets much better offers than I get.  However, even these offers really aren’t that great. Carnival does not appear to have trouble filling their ships close to capacity, so they don’t have much of an incentive to offer significant discounts for most cruises

For the OP: Carnivals casino offers really follow no protocol that most of us can figure out. It's not outlined like other cruise lines, so the offers are sporadic. You may get these offers this month and  not so great offers for the next 6 months. Elite offers are the highest they offer just for reference. If this is a cruise your really interested in my vote would be to take it.

I don't know what Carnival considers a lot of money gambled, but I know that every spin on a slot machine counts towards your total gamble, whether you won on the machine or not.  I probably gambled several thousand, mostly on machines and some on blackjack, but I ended up losing around one thousand. Still a lot, but it was my vacation, and I enjoy gambling.

Thank you for the info!  Have you been to any of those islands or in that area? The weather is the one thing holding me back from campaigning for this trip with my husband.

I wish it included more ports in Australia and not just start/end there. So if we want to spend any time in Sydney, we have to spend more days and money on hotel/food/tours. With travel time, it'll be at least a 2 week trip, which is pretty long.  But I'm thinking about it....

Thank you!

We’ve spent some time in the casino on our cruises, but the best offer we have been given is the chance to gamble on a cheaper deposit that is not refundable. We have yet to cancel a booked cruise and we are retired, so that’s not much of a gamble. I will let us jump on a cruise we would like and get a good cabin choice. The P1R offer code says “up to $138” discount, but it never seems to show up on cruises we would like.

No, I've never been to those islands. I did look it up, and July would be on the cooler, dryer side, and it would not be in cyclone season, which would be a concern to me. (I did spend 3 months (Dec., Jan., and Feb.) in New Zealand years ago -  had some rain, but no "wicked storms"!!!) Would using frequent flyer miles be an option in flying to the land down other?

I don't have any FF miles right now. I will be building some up in the future with my new job, but probably not the quantity for flying international.  I used to have a job working with Japan and those FF miles were awesome!

I actually just booked this cruise! I was concerned about the weather too but in the end the offer is too good to pass up.

I am hoping in the South Pacific 70f is just like 70f in the Bahamas which makes for an awesome outside day.

I priced out flights on American for the month of June 2020 since July wasn't available and it looks like about 1500. Fortunately I have plenty of miles but even if I didnt I think I would still have booked it.

I have had several casino offers over the years.  The best one was a 10 day med cruise for $271 in port fees and taxes.  We ended up upgrading to a balcony when the fairy called us a few days before, I think that was about $1000 more but we decided it was worth it. I have learned the hard way that if you think about it for too long, the offer is gone.  Someone was asking how much money you need to spend to get the offers.  I really don't know what is typical, but here is what happened to me.  On our first cruise, I spent about $1000 in the casino.  My husband was so mad!  I don't blame him.  On the last day of the cruise, the cruise director told everyone to close out our casino accounts so I went in to do that.  I had about $24 in credits.  I decided to play them and I won $2500.  My husband forgave me a little bit after that.  Ever since then, carnival has sent me offers for a free interior or discounts with casino money.  We are going for a short 5 day just to get away from work for a bit in October.  The cost for both of us is $447 for an ocean view.  They are giving me $200 to play with and are also giving us $100 OBC each.  They are basically giving us back the price minus $47.  We will have the DOU card but we still probably order cheers anyway.  We like the Alchemy bar.  I hope that helps.

I don't think my husband and I will be taking this cruise, but I really am looking forward to hearing all about it.  I hope you'll come back and tell me about it!!!
