Blackizzy Posted August 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2019 We are on this cruise and have also enquired about a shore excursion to Jerusalem and the Dead Sea with the same company. Our reservation is the need to have at least 6 people on the tour before it will run, with the worry that we will miss out on the ship's tour if this number is not achieved. marty52 Posted August 21, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted August 21, 2019 Hi Sue Guided Israel Tours have been in touch today and suggest we hang on till 18th September. We are going to do this as we're hopeful another two will book. Hopefully see you then! Martin
marty52 Posted August 22, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted August 22, 2019 Hi Sue As far as I’m aware you can book with Tui and cancel with a refund.
Pensioncruiser Posted August 22, 2019 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2019 That is correct they say that they just require 24hrs notice. 😊
Rare dronnygirl Posted August 22, 2019 #6 Share Posted August 22, 2019 When we used Guided Tours Israel we were in a similar situation. However people booked nearer the time and we filled the bus. Can really recommend them, they are extremely reliable and you don't pay until they drop you back at the ship. We did Jerusalem and Bethlehem as the Dead Sea is much further, we had a really full but enjoyable day.
suekay Posted August 25, 2019 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2019 I hope you manage to get enough people to go with GuidedToursIsrael. We've used them on different tours on various cruises and all were excellent
Vitalsign Posted August 25, 2019 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2019 Is there a ships 2 day tour on your cruise? As I can heartily recommend it It only cost £40 more than taking a tour each day and we stayed overnight in a hotel with dinner and breakfast provided, which meant we did not have a return journey to the ship the first night nor a coach journey out again from the ship the following morning. This meant we were able to see more things than if we had taken 2 tours. We visited the heart of Jerusalem, the wailing wall, 12 stations of the cross, church of the Holy Sepulchre, garden of Gethsemane, Mount of Olives, Bethlehem - Church of the Nativity, Nazareth - Church of the Annunciation , sea of Gallilee, Dead Sea and River Jordan We had a packed lunch given to us the first day and the second day had a free lunch in a kibbutz. It covered everywhere we wanted to see
f&dcruising Posted August 28, 2019 #9 Share Posted August 28, 2019 Hi Martin I have just come across your post and I have sent an enquiry to the tour company. Depending on cost etc hopefully we can make it up to 6 people. Derek

marty52 Posted August 29, 2019 Author #13 Share Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) I guess you noticed I made an error in my original post about Guided Israel Tours. Pick up is between 7.45 - 8.00 am! Edited August 29, 2019 by marty52 Typing error.
Vitalsign Posted August 29, 2019 #14 Share Posted August 29, 2019 There probably is a minimum but when we did the Marella 2 day trip there were 4 coach loads and I think it will be popular so I shouldn't worry about it
Vitalsign Posted August 29, 2019 #15 Share Posted August 29, 2019 Can't you check the price under your booking reference in the excursions section?
Oonser Posted August 29, 2019 #16 Share Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) No when I put my booking reference in it says 0 tours found, maybe because it’s not until next year - I don’t know! Edited August 29, 2019 by Oonser

marty52 Posted August 29, 2019 Author #21 Share Posted August 29, 2019 True. It shows as a tour but doesn’t seem to come up on our sailing date. We’re going to go with Guided Tours Israel. They have good reviews.
