Puerto Limon Costa Rica - Excursions

Marella are currently offering a slightly bewildering 21 excursions in Puerto Limon in Costa Rica on Discovery 2. Many look very similar with only subtle differences.

 

Has any one been on an excursion there with Marella and if so, which one was it, what did it entail and what was your experience? We are visiting there in February 2020. Thanks.

We did this cruise last year, and we did the trip going down the river seeing plenty of wild life, then getting a train back which in it'self was a unique experience, sorry i can't remember the name of it, but it was an afternoon trip, our guide was really good and we had plenty of time stopping on the river seeing the Sloths, monkeys and other species, we don't normally do trips off the ship but we are glad we did this one, hope that helps.

Which cruise are you doing in February as I think I may be on the same one. We sail from Montego Bay on February 25th.

We have done this cruise 3 times and there is a trip which includes a boat trip down a canal/river but we waited until most had got off the ship and asked a taxi driver to take us there. He took us obtained a small boat and driver for us when we got there and waited to take us back to the ship. As the ships trip was in a large boat we were much nearer the water and in our opinion saw much more and it was cheaper. The boatman had a laser so he could show us the animals in the mangroves and trees which we might have missed had he not done so.

There is a Roll Call for this cruise and we are arranging to meet up on board, add your name to the Roll Call for info on when and where to meet.
